Nation is celebrating 77th Republic day on 26th Jan 2026 and GDC Kokernag also celebrated the event of National Importance with zeal and fervor under the kind patronage of Worthy Principal Prof. Ghulam Abbas. Both faculty as well as students community participated in the event.

One day historical tour 2025

The annual day function is a vibrant celebration of creativity, talent and achievements. This day will be celebrated to showcase a series of performances like cultural activities, drama, music and dance.Students, teachers and guests will gather to honour academic excellence, recognize outstanding achievements and to create unforgettable memories.

The Department of Fisheries at Government Degree College Kokernag organized an insightful lecture titled “Water, Fish, and Community: Sustaining Life through Service” on 26th September 2025. . It emphasized the importance of preserving water bodies and promoting sustainable fishery practices to ensure environmental balance and socio-economic development.

World Environment Day shall be celebrated by department of environmental Science in collaboration with Debates and Seminar Committee of GDC Kokernag under the theme ENDING GLOBAL PLASTIC POLLUTION.

Annual College Road Race 2025

The Department of Botany Observed the Plantation Drive from 8th of April to 10th of April. In this drive the students from B. Sc. 2nd, 4th and 6th Semesters took part. More than 400 saplings of Cedrus deodare were planted in the different parks, lawns and Playground of the College campus. These plants were donated by the Social Forestry Department Division Anantnag to whom the Department of Botany has a MOU.

On 19th of march 2025 department of Botany in collaboration with the department of social forestry division Anantnag organized a mega Planation Drive in the college campus in which almost all the students and officials of department of social forestry participated. In this event more than 100 saplings of conifers(Cedrus) and cupressus were planted.
